How to get away from Microsoft Account entirely

Actually, I'm not confused about them -- I understand the difference. However, when I first set up this machine, I did the Microsoft account thing and got a local account name of XYZ. There's a folder there C:\Users\XYZ\

Then I decided -- no, I really don't want that at all -- so I switched to a local account, ABC. There's now a folder C:\Users\ABC

I do see there's some things showing modifications to files in C:\Users\XYZ though since I switched. And I see no way of ridding myself of user XYZ from the control panel. I wouldn't expect to see any modification there though, that's confusing me.

Once I get files moved over properly from the old system (do NOT start me on that one), I'm planning on deleting all user files out of C:\Users\XYZ.

Would I be safe deleting that entire folder?

    That's basically it.
Ah, good point -- trouble is it comes back with "The user name is not found". Maybe switching to local took care of that, and changing the name took care of the folder contents but left the original behind.

That's right. If the command is right and the username too, you're good to go and delete the folder manually.
