Windows 8 Microsoft Account Corrupted?

I have an existing Microsoft with XBox live attached from years ago.
Yesterday, I decided to finally upgrade to Windows 8.

I did it as a clean install from Windows 7, formatted my SSD and installed from scratch.

I used my old Microsoft account as the active account, and proceeded through the install with no issues.

First thing I did when I hit the desktop was install all the manufacturer Windows 8 drivers and utilities.
Then I set up some control panel options that I typically use (disable firewall, disable UAC, desktop, speaker etc.).

I rebooted a few times for the drivers, and went through the "trust this PC" procedure.
I then updated windows using Windows update to get to the latest hotfixes.

After my PC rebooted, I seem to have lost access to a lot of control panel features.
Notably, administrative options such as "Disable/Enable firewall" that are marked with the administrator shield icon. Some of the shield options work, most don't do anything. The options are visible, but when I click on them nothing happens. There is no "you need admin rights, yes/no" box or anything. Simply nothing.

I checked the PC Settings Metro style control panel, and noticed that the "Users" option is gone on the screen.
All other options are present, and work. But Users is gone. The top option on that screen is Personalize.

I have no access to UAC options, Changing my user type, or any user options at all. And most options in the control panel do nothing.

I figured it was an install/update issue, but reinstalled 3 times, and had it occur each time.
It seems like every time I either install updates, or "trust this PC", I lose privileges.
When I do look at my user, it says that I am an administrator.

I tried reinstalling and using a local account, and I have no issues at all, so it appears to be associated with my account.
I can't just delete and re-add the account because it has all of my Xbox credentials, and an MSDN account.
It doesn't appear that MS provides any account support for these accounts, so I am not sure how to decorrupt it.

Do you have an AMD graphics card?
I figured out my issue.

It was the AMD Official Driver Uninstaller corrupting my profile. I had to reinstall windows to get it to work, but the Uninstaller is what caused it in the first place.

Yes, a 5870 with latest beta... and yes... i have used the "new" Uninstaller before installing new beta driver... O_O

So the problem is this Uninstaller... :-(

Nothing to do without reinstall?
