    granting all users program access

Just received my new Win 8 machine. I will set up several users, but how do I ensure they all have access to the various programs I want to install, such as Chrome, Firefox, MS Office, games etc.

I hold the admin account (second level - not the hidden admin account). I assumed I just installed all programs from there (admin) and ensured I ticked the 'install for all users' box. But when I did that for my son's 'MS Flight Sim X' game package it only installed on the Admin account and not anywhere else - very confusing.

I therefore want to make sure I am doing the program install right before I move on to other programs.

Hello onlyme, and welcome to Eight Forums.

You should be able to just manually create a shortcut of the program's .exe file in each account for them to use to run the program with.

    Hope this helps,
    Shawn

    Thanks for the welcome 'brink'.

So I just find the 'exe' file in the programe files (computer / porgram files X86) then create a shortcut to that on the desktop - in each individual user account.

Correct, then the shortcut could be moved or pinned where you or they like.
