    Default Adminstrator and User Account

Is there anyway to give a "User Account" the same rights as the "Default Administrator Account"?

Try this & let me know how it goes. Remember you have to login to Windows 8 with Admin Account.

User Account Type - Change in Windows 8

    1. Run ''COMPMGMT.MSC''
    2. On Computer Management -> System Tools - > Local Users and Groups and left click Groups to select.
    3. You'll see Administrator group, you can click Properties
    4. Administrator Properties click the Add button
    5. Select the USER box type in the name or accounts you want to add to Administrator Group and click Check Names

Click Ok to Save & Restart with the new user you just added to Admin

    Hello rdwray,

If you mean to make all unelevated administrator accounts to be the same as the built-in elevated "Administrator" account, then the tutorial below can show you how to.

Be warned that doing this will cause Metro Store apps to no longer work while you are logged into an elevated account.

    Hope this helps,

Nicholas, I got this part, but it doesn't give you elevated privileges.

Brink, I tried this one and it does have its' drawbacks.

I really don't think there is a way to do it, but I wanted to give it a try.

I just looked at the Administrator account and this suggestion is just what they do. Just like a change for a user, you cannot access apps while logged in as Administrator. Well, now I know the rest of the story.

You should be fine using a normal unelevated administrator account though.

You can always use "Run as administrator" if you need to run something elevated.

Plus, you will still have access to everything. It's just that you may need to click OK from a UAC prompt, or take ownership and allow your account permission first on some items.
