    Setting up a non-personal account

    Hi there,

I need some advice and I hope you people can advise me.

I want to set up a non-personal account on my pc. It is an account that guests/friends/family/etc. can use to browse the internet and stuff like that. I don't like it when they use my account.

Already I've created a new local account. But the problem I'm facing is that, logged on with this account, I can't download stuff from the store. It seems that you need to be logged on for that.

So I see only one option ==> create a dummy Microsoft Account and use that for the guest account.

Personally I don't like the idea of creating a dummy Microsoft Account. So I'm wondering....What would you guys do?

Why would you want to download an app from the store on a guest account. Now I'm that not familiar with the App Store as I don't use apps on my PC but can't you download when logged in on your account and then make them available to all users like you do with real programs!

Hi steveb, thanx for your quick response .

Why would I want to download apps on the guest account. Well, I want to give the guest users the full experience of Windows 8. So that also means installing apps from the store. There are some apps that my guest users will want to use. So installing apps is a must in this case.

I don't know if it is possible to login with my own account and download the apps and then logoff. I don't want to try is because I'm terribly afraid it might corrupt my own account/ profile. Perhaps someone here has more experience with this?

OK I was thinking you wanted your guests to be able to download apps.

If you want to install a selection of apps for guests to use then in that case set up your guest account as a local account, login into that account, open the App Store and login to the store with your account details, (the login is session based so once you exit the store your login is not remembered). Install the apps you want, close the App Store and log out. The guest account will now have those apps available when anyone logs into it.
