microsoft account question relating to windows 8

alright.. I'm signed into my microsoft account.. do I NEED to be connected to a network, if say, I take my laptop to my aunt's, where she doesnt have internet access?

or is the computer going to immediately complain that it cant reach whatever servers are needed for microsoft account functionality?

You'll still be able to use your Microsoft account, but without an internet connection, your Microsoft account just won't be able to sync. Of course, you will also not be able to do anything that requires an internet connection.

do you know if that includes the win8 nook pc app?

I haven't used that app, but if it needs the internet, then it may not run or work properly without an internet connection.

well I know I can access the windows vista/7 program when not online.. I'll try it when I go to my aunts for christmas.
