    Password

I don't like to have to enter a password when I open Windows. I've done a search and have found out that if you Run Netplwiz it will bring up a page where you can select to not enter password. I have done that and it works--some of the time. But when it makes up it's mind to, it does not work and I still need to enter a password. It's no big deal but is there a way to set it up so that you never need to enter a password?

    Hello Frank,

Odd. It usually works perfect for me. Sometimes it may not take the first time for whatever reason, but setting it again will usually have it working perfectly. You might take a look at the tutorial below to see if it may help.

Log On User Account Automatically at Windows 8 Startup

Do you have the secure sign-in CTRL+ALT+DEL enabled?

Here's what I just discovered and I did it 3 times to make sure: If I do a full shutdown and then start it up, I don't need to enter my password. But, if I put it in sleep mode, then when I start if from sleep, I need to enter my password. Does yours work from sleep mode?

Yeah, that tutorial is only for signing in at startup, and no where else.

That would be the "require password on awake" power plan option. Turning it off should sort it for you.

Thanks for the information. I, like my computer, have a hard time starting after I wakeup.
