Help with multiple users login screen!

How do you change Windows 8 to startup with the list of users on the computer rather than the user who logged in last? I know you can hit the back button but it's just annoying adding unnecessary steps to logging in. Does anyone know how to change this?

Hello Matthew, and welcome to Eight Forums.

I've noticed that when you enable the secure CTRL+ALT+DELETE screen, it will show the multiple users at sign in by default instead of only the user that last signed out.

Secure Sign-in with Ctrl+Alt+Delete - Enable or Disable in Windows 8

    Hope this helps,
    Shawn

It didn't help . It was easy in windows 7 but I can't find a way to see all users on log on screen instead of one.Any idea?

Do you mean this behaviour (works only for one reboot):
    [HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Authentication\LogonUI\UserSwitch]
Change value "Enabled" from "0" to "1"

After reboot, the value is set to 0 . How can I get this unchanged?

    me too...

Microsoft have dropped the ball here mind! something as SIMPLE as 'logging into windows' should not be so awkward, my GF has to log me IN then click MY NAME on MY START SCREEN to log herself in - not only is this a massive screw up and pain in butt, but it also uses more resources as now TWO users are logged into the computer instead of ONE!

    Hello Snadge,

You should be able to just click/tap on the back arrow at the top left corner on the sign in screen to have all users displayed on the sign in screen, then be able to select the user you want to sign in with.

    Hi,

thing is I dont get a chance because it automatically signs me in? - why does it do that? im using default windows 8 settings... this means the 'default' for windows 8 is to login 1 user so that other users can log 'over-the-top' of the 1st user

EDIT: ive checked netplwiz and the box is checked for user must enter username & password?

That's not the default behavior when there's more than one local user account on the same computer.

Does both accounts have passwords created for them?

You might see if unchecking the box, apply, then checking the box, apply may toggle and reset it to work properly.
