As long as it's the same version 4.xxx 5.xxx 6.xxx and you're a home user not using a server, you don't "have" to.

What is a 'boot menu option'?
I have burned a Macrium rescue cd, do I already have the 'boot menu option'?

I have inserted the 'Macrium rescue cd' and want to test it, but how far can I go before it actually starting restoring the image?
I don't want that to happen!
I can see my external harddrive where the image is stored, can I double click it or will that start the restore process?

I believe it's when you install Macrium you can also boot to recovery in your UEFI advanced boot options.

So I'm alright with just the 'Macrium rescue cd'?

Sorry that last was wrong.... It's when you are not able to boot to windows it does the BCDEdit repair. It repairs your boot loader and MBR. BCDEdit stands for Boot Configuration Data Editor,

But yeah one rescue disk is enough. I't is also the same program as the installed Macrium. This means you can also make "offline" images on any windows PC with it, even if Macrium isn't installed on it. It is actually more than just a recovery environment, it's a mini Operating System.

The boot menu recovery is already on the recovery disk. Go ahead and boot to it and take a look around. I would even try a recovery at least once before you really need it to make sure I did every thing correctly.
