    You're most welcome.

In Windows 8, .dds file types were unassociated, but in Windows 8.1 they are associated with Windows Photo Viewer now by default.

Either way is fine, but I just used the latest 8.1 defaults. If you would prefer unassociated, then please just let me know, and I'll post a .reg file for that.

Alright, if this doesn't cause any problems, think I will stick to the current state then, thank you very much once more

Hello Tony, and welcome to Eight Forums.

You could also do a system restore using a restore point dated before you had this issue to undo it.

    Hope this helps,
    Shawn

I've done the system restore with no luck. Now when I try to open the exe file is says, "choose a program". So the restore did unassociate the exe file but now it asks for the correct program. Any ideas?
