Hell Jerry, and welcome to Eight Forums.

There's not an association for .ccc files by default in Windows. If you like, you could download and merge the .reg file below and restart the computer afterwards to unassociate .ccc files.

    ccc.reg

    Thanks so much for this!
The EXE reg file saved us on a 2008 R2 Terminal server where the EXE extension had become associated with a particular program and nothing would run! This happened via a Group Policy Preference setting gone awry.
Tried it because the server was useless and we were looking at a restore from backup.
We ran 'change user /install' before merging the reg file and 'change user /execute' after... not sure if that was necessary but it worked!

Late to the game but I have a question about resetting default associations. My problem is that my MP3 files do not show their embedded album art in the preview generated by Windows. The suggestion I have read over and over is this fix.

Here's my dilemma: If I apply this fix, MP3s will revert back to opening with WMP. I hate WMP and like using VLC Media player. Am I understanding correctly that if I want my previews to work, I HAVE to use WMP? This just seems wrong.

Replacement Registry Key for 'period' Extension

Here is a registry key script for the punctuation mark "period" ... I tried it and it does work, although this key is not missing from my computer at this time. Copy between the sets of dotted lines and Paste into Text Editor (such as Notepad) and 'Save As...'
    Filename: period.reg
