    Hi,

I need a little help, please.

We have to PCs in the family (mine and the one of my son), both running Windows 8 (legal copy) and both having Family Safety turned on.

My problem is, that I can see the Activity Report on my PC only offline. On the on-line control panel of Family Safety I can see his both accounts listed, but one of them is "blocked" (no report and no option to change anything) and the text says, that my PC has been removed from on line reporting.

But it is getting even weirder:

In the list of family members I can see his name twice:

Account 1 says, it is not under on-line control.

Account 2 lists both PC (mine and his).

Remove and reinstall on both PCs didn't solve the problem.

I think, something went wrong. Although - as I said - in one online account under his name are both PC-s listed, maybe, I can monitor his both accounts in this place - the question is, how can I see, what he does on my PC and on his.

Any answers and suggestion are appreciated!

    Thanks in advance: Igor

Hello Igor, and welcome to Eight Forums.

Is your son's account a "standard user" account in Windows 8 on both PCs?

If not, then that's why you are unable to turn on "View activity reporting" online like in step 5 of OPTION TWO.

    Hi,

    thank You for Your answer.

Actually I have deleted his accounts on both machines and created new ones. However, at this moment only one (my PC) is appearing online. I give up - at least, I can control his actions offline, e.g. on his machines.

    4 more remarks:

    1) As in step 5 on the picture, before deleting his accounts, there was a text right from "No requests" saying something like "There is no control of Family Safety on this account"
    2) As in step 6 on the picture, I couldn't change the setting "Turn on the activity reporting" vs. "Turn off activity reporting"
    3) As in step 6 on the picture, there was a notification below, that his PC is no longer being managed on the FS website...
    4) When I try to add my wife as a parent, there is an error, saying error 16500, this family member has been added before - although I can't see her as parent in the summary.

    Thanks anyway: Igor

PS: problem 4) solved: I have two Microsoft account and in one she has been previously added as parent, so I deleted her there and added her to my main account.

Is your son's account a local or Microsoft account?

If he doesn't already, you might see how it works with him having a Microsoft account as a standard user used to log in to both Windows 8 PCs with may work better with Family Safety.

As things are being synchronised all the time, I think, both accounts are Microsoft accounts. Yesterday, when I was creating new accounts for him on both PCs, I had to confirm, that these PCs are safe ones.

The second sentence I don't quite understand, sorry for my bad english (my German and Hungarian are much better:-) But if I'm correct, You mean, he should have standard accounts (he does).

But if You need print screens for further information, I will link some.

    Thanks: Igor
