OneDrive App Shortcut - Create in Windows 8

How to Create a OneDrive App Shortcut in Windows 8 and 8.1

information   Information
Store any file on OneDrive (formerly SkyDrive) and it's automatically available or share from any device. With OneDrive for Windows 8, your files in the cloud are just a touch away. You can easily view, upload, and share your files on OneDrive and even access your OneDrive files across Windows 8 apps.

OneDrive is fully integrated in Windows 8.1, and has the OneDrive app included by default.

You would need to install the free OneDrive app from the Windows Store in Windows 8 at the link below.

For more information, see: OneDrive app for Windows in the Windows Store

This tutorial will show you how to create or download a modern OneDrive app shortcut that you can use or pin where you like in Windows 8, Windows RT, Windows 8.1, and Windows RT 8.1.

Haven't had Desktop icons for ages!
At least Metro icons are symmetrically similar; never cared for a Desktop that looks cluttered! ;)

Yeah, I believe there's about a half second or so longer delay on the app's splash screen from the desktop shortcut versus direct before it loads. Unfortunately, I don't think that it can be helped since it's not opening the app directly. :(

I was wondering, shouldn't there already be a OneDrive icon located somewhere without downloading another one? Windows has to be using one from somewhere..

Actually, I found where the icon is located in the system.

Code:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\imageres.dll

Hello Whileboo,

Yeah, you could use that one as well if you like, but it's blue version instead of the actual one used for the OneDrive app. :)
