OneDrive Notification Icon - Add or Remove in Windows 8.1

Add or Remove OneDrive Notification Area Icon in Windows 8.1

information   Information
The OneDrive Sync Engine Host notification area icon was introduced with the KB2923768 Windows Update in Windows 8.1, and included with the cumulative Windows 8.1 Update by default.

The OneDrive OneDrive_Icon.jpg notification area icon on the taskbar makes it easier to open OneDrive in File Explorer, view sync problems, and sync status.

This tutorial will show you how to add or remove the OneDrive taskbar notification area icon in Windows 8.1 and Windows 8.1 Update.

Note   Note
The OneDrive notification area icon is only available while signed in to Windows 8.1 with a Microsoft account.

If you sign in to Windows with a local account, then you will not have the OneDrive notification area icon available unless you sign in to the Store with your Microsoft account.
