My set up is a 7 upgraded to 8 then upped to 8.1 after that would that have bearing on what I am seeing??

PS Oops I meant option 2 looked involved
Possibly since it's and upgrade of an upgrade for more possibilities of something going haywire during the upgrade or being incompatible.

Option Three should work and make it easier though.

    Great news John.

You uploaded the image, but just didn't go back and attach it from the paperclip icon again.

I have to wonder if it has something to do with that >0< beside the Dx10SubScore...I know the windows 8 file I have has a score there, the one generated by running it from the command prompt (in 8.1) does not. My Win8 score was 5.9, my 8.1 score is 5.9.

It's been a while since I messed with the WEI score.

Here are some weird WEI findings on my (laptop) machine, thought I'd share the results.

I got one of those laptops with integrated Intel 4000 and Nvidia (630M).

A while ago I decided to assign winsat.exe to run with the Nvidia processor (in the Nvidia Control Panel).

Nvidia should be better than the integrated Intel...

Thoughts: increase the WEI graphics score.
But the result was the opposite: the score went down.
WEI isn't the best way to benchmark this the GPU then?

I re-updated, just to make sure, but with same result.

It seems that Nvidia is here already the default one giving WEI scores? I can't confirm what the defaults are and now I can't reset the settings (removing winsat from Nvidia control panel 3D settings).

Just to see what the WEI gives, I've set winsat to Integrated (Intel) graphics:

    And the updated score is:

    Better according to the score...

Either way, that is way below my older Nvidia 230M that shows 6.5 on Win7.
Scores must be re-arranged on Win8.1 (to theoretically go up to 9.9) or the results I have aren't accurate.
I'm also not sure which GPU is the best one for the WEI score since the Nvidia is only meant to kick in for 3D applications.

In the end, Desktop Graphics Performance: 5.3; the one dedicated for that on this laptop is the Intel 4000 and the Nvidia is ONLY for the 3D acceleration hence the lower score at this WEI point. Pretty confusing when I first saw the results...

    Any other thoughts on this?

    Regards,
    Hopachi
