How to Create a "Bluetooth Settings" Shortcut in Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8​

There are many different types of Bluetooth enabled devices you can add to your PC, such as mobile phones, wireless headsets, and wireless mouse devices and keyboards.

After you've paired (connected) a Bluetooth enabled device with a Bluetooth enabled computer, you can change the name of the device or enable or disable services for it. You can also control how your computer pairs with this and with other Bluetooth enabled devices.

You must have Bluetooth wireless technology installed on your computer to have "Bluetooth Settings" available.


This tutorial will show you how to create or download Bluetooth Settings shortcuts that open directly to it's Options, Com Ports, and Hardware tabs in Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8.

OPTION ONE

To Download a "Bluetooth Settings" Shortcut

1. Do step 2, 3, and/or 4 below for which tab you want the Bluetooth Settings shortcut to open to.​

2. Bluetooth Settings Options Tab Shortcut​
​
A) Click/tap on the Download button below to download the ZIP file below, and go to step 5 below.​

3. Bluetooth Settings COM Ports Tab Shortcut​

A) Click/tap on the Download button below to download the ZIP file below, and go to step 5 below.​

4. Bluetooth Settings Hardware Tab Shortcut​
​
A) Click/tap on the Download button below to download the ZIP file below, and go to step 5 below.​

5. Save the .zip file to your desktop.​
​
6. Open the .zip file and extract (drag and drop) the shortcut to your desktop.​
​
7. Unblock the extracted shortcut.​
​
8. If you like, you can Pin to Taskbar on desktop, Pin to Start screen, add to Quick Launch, assign a keyboard shortcut to it, or move this shortcut to where you like for easy use.​
​
9. When finished, you can delete the downloaded .zip file if you like.​





OPTION TWO

To Manually Create a "Bluetooth Settings" Shortcut

1. Right click or press and hold on an empty area of your desktop, and click/tap on New and Shortcut.​
​
2. Copy and paste either command below into the location area, and click/tap on the Next button. (see screenshot below)​

3. Type Bluetooth Settings for the name, and click/tap on the Finish button. (see screenshot below)​
NOTE: You can name this shortcut anything you would like though. ​

4. Right click or swipe down on the new Bluetooth Settings shortcut, and click/tap on Properties.​
​
5. Click/tap on the Shortcut tab, then click/tap on the Change Icon button. (see screenshot below)​

6. In the line under "Look for icons in this file", copy and paste the location below and press Enter. (see screenshot below)​

7. Select the icon highlighted in blue above, and click/tap on OK. (see screenshot above)​
NOTE: You can use any icon that you would like instead though.​

8. Click/tap on OK. (see screenshot below step 5)​

Bluetooth switch

Just had a look through these instructions hoping to solve problems with no bluetooth on windows 8 and Samsung XE500T1C-A01AU but find I havn't got the switch shown in the pix. How to Turn On or Off Bluetooth in Windows 8 and 8.1

When the dongle is removed a switch is shown but it is a shadow and non operative.
Getting desperate

Samsung XE500T1C-A01AU using Windows 8




I need to play my music programs like Encore and Band in a Box through an amplifier. ( I use this to provide backing rhythms for my guitar playing). Had a lot of problems with a wire connection so eventually gave this angle away and decided to go Bluetooth and cut out the wire completely.
I can't get it to work for me. Bluetooth 4 is supposedly standard in this machine but it does not seem to be present, so I purchased Targus bluetooth 4 and plugged the dongle in.
Despite a couple of months experimenting I cant get it to work. I have a bluetooth receiver EDUP EP-B3502 which will pair with my phone and works well. But try it with the computer and ....zilch
Try to find the reason and the computer insists either that I have not switched it on or alternatively that the user has disconnected it. There is no switch on the dongle, a blue light is on so we know it is working but can't get any further.

Yes, with the Targus came a disc, halfway through downloading a message came up saying that there was a later version already in my computer.
After a few failures I contacted Targus and they came up with a lot of instructions whereby I dumped it and downloaded new stuff. this didn't work. Since then Targus is ignoring my request for more help. Think they just don't know and won't admit it.\

I'm afraid that I don't think that will be a supported option to sync audio like that. :(

OK, I will pursue that after getting bluetooth to work just transferring data or music from my computer to receiver or phone.

Most important at the moment is to get the thing working, can you help?

I'm sorry for your answer. I thought I'd found at last a forum where Help was available. This is probably the tenth forum I've thrown my problem to and none of the rest could give me any decent answers either.

Is there any reason why bluetooth should not work on windows 8? Do you know people who are actually using it?

I don't give up that easy!!! have solved part of the problem and got bluetooth established on the computer. It will also pair with the B3502....but....

My phone paired with the B3502 will send and play music through it to an amplifier...

The computer paired with my phone will pass messages and also music in data form but won't play it
and......
the computer will not send live music through the B3502 (but does acknowledge that it is paired)

How can I get the computer to do what I want it to? The B3502's information says that music can be played through it from laptop, phone or Ipod, so it must be possible.
