    Please post a screenshot showing what it says in your command prompt to see what the issue may be.

    Did you do this in an elevated command prompt? (right click -> Run as administrator)

    I can't get the screen shot in to the page will not except file, it says what I had wrote down in the email. Yes it was command prompt with admin the error code was 0x800700a1 "The recovery image cannot be saved in system locations or under the user profile" is what it says exactly

    May be a permissions issue. Do you have another location to save the refresh image to?

    Not sure why you are not able to. I'm able to save it on C: on my system.

    What was the exact location of where you were trying to save it at?

    Go ahead and post a screenshot showing the full layout of all of your Disk Management to see if something may stand out as a possible reason.

    This is the same problem that I had and reported earlier. The problem disappeared on re-installing Windows 8.

    I haven't made a recovery media but i do have a recovery partition of around 23gb. how do i use that?
