SFC /Scannow Erorrs help me read the log file and fix

    Hello,

Can anyone interpret my sfc /scannow log and tell me what's wrong. Windows seems to run smoothly but if there are windows corrupted files I would like to fix them. Here is what it says in CMD and I will attach the log file. Thank you so much.

    SFC.txt

    Microsoft Windows [Version 6.3.9600]
    (c) 2013 Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved.C:\WINDOWS\system32>sfc /scannow
Beginning system scan. This process will take some time.
Beginning verification phase of system scan.
    Verification 100% complete.
Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some
of them. Details are included in the CBS.Log windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For
example C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. Note that logging is currently not
    supported in offline servicing scenarios.
    C:\WINDOWS\system32>

Hello Mitch, and welcome to Eight Forums.

You attached a copy of your full CBS.log instead of the sfcdetails.txt file from Option Three. The sfcdetails.txt will only show details of the SFC scan without all of the other unrelated information in the CBS.log.

Looking at your SFC details, it shows that it cannot repair Amd64\CNBJ2530.DPB of the prncacla.inf file due to a hash mismatch. The prncacla.inf file is part of the default Microsoft Windows printer drivers package included in Windows.

If you don't use this printer driver or not having any issues from it, then it's nothing to worry about.

    Hope this helps,
    Shawn

    Hi Brink,
I followed the steps for this fix then got tripped up by this error: Windows Resource Protection Could Not Start the Repair Service
.So I followed the steps in the yellow sticky and checked that the Windows Modules Installer. It was enabled and set to manual.
When I try to run the SFC SCANNOW it still comes up with the error Windows Resource Protection Could Not Start the Repair Service.
Is it that I have the drive letters wrong? I tried a few different variations. However I'm sure that both my boot files and Windows 8 are located on C....

Hello Azurohn, and welcome to Eight Forums.

Option One is to run SFC at boot instead of in Windows. Are you able to use Option Two instead?

Question.. SFC/Scannow attempts to find and fix corrupt or modified system files.. Does this include the registry and any changes I've made? Basically, I made a bunch of registry changes and if running the scan resets the changes, then I will be steering clear of the scan

    Hello Adam,

SFC doesn't affect the registry. Only Windows system files.
