VMware Player - Install Windows 8

    Okay I'll assume that means
Yes make a new partition and yes create a bootable flash device to install on the new partition
I don't see the point of VMware if that is the process ?

I thought the point of VMware was to Avoid dual boot which has done nothing but scramble my boot system reserved partition

The last two times I've done dual boot with win-10 :/

    Don't assume Mike.

The partition you are making is virtual,

You are not dual booting, you are running on a virtual machine, it is all created and running like a program in a window.

You don't need to create a bootable flash drive either, just point it to the ISO you downloaded (Step 11)

Thank you Derek where there is no clarity there is often assumptions

Pretty much the point of asking before installing with the default install or custom,
I'm missing the point of the clean install at 15 it makes no sense for VMware because the options have already been made in setup,

By the way because there is No win-10 listing I chose Other and not win-8..
There are too many Grey/ Gray u.k. areas to not ask for clarity

I might add a very small window which might be so small win-10 32 is a waste of time

Keith is right, choose Windows 8, not other.

The reference to the clean install in 15 is just to show the rest of the steps, don't let that confuse you. Just keep going.

The window size can be adjusted after install by setting a new screen resolution from within the virtual Win 10.

I'm going to look closer at adding a dual ssd to do exactly that Keith

All I'll need to do is make a bootable flash of a win-8 upgrade install with nothing but a activation key,
Last I checked though the only download is for a win-8 .exe file and not an iso 8 file :/

I'll see how black Friday goes on deals
Cables are the interesting part on dual ssd's on this machine
I'll take pictures in a little while and ask a new question on 7Forums
    Cheers all

Oops you meant choose win-8 instead of Other ?

If you install VMWare tools the screen will resize automatically.

I always do, but I'm not sure what size you automatically get but I usually have to adjust for a larger window, unless you are talking about full screen?

I normally run full screen but it also resizes if you run in a window.
