    What does the command prompt codes given in the link by Autobahn actually do, any idea? Should I try this first. I've reached home, and is trying to repair this.

    It say's it repairs a corrupt windows image, it starts and stops services pertaining  windows update and then cleans windows update folder.

    Well tried out the commands in the link first, everything were successful except this command: ren Download Download.old, returned "Access is denied".

    I'm doing a dism restore health now.

    visruth, it looks good to me, maybe PM superfly and he can help. Did you reboot and try again? Also you could try running Disk Cleanup as admin to clean up your Windows update and SxS files then run the dism commend.

I am getting repeated Component store corruptions after any security updates. No metro apps will open yet an icon appears on the Taskbar. I have been able to repair it with DISM every time but that is beside the point. I want to know why!
