Mail App Email Notifications - Turn On or Off in Windows 8

How to Turn Email Notifications On or Off for Mail App in Windows 8 and 8.1

information   Information
Toast notifications in Windows 8 are balloon type notifications that appear as a themed bar in the upper right corner of your main display to allow a Store app to communicate with the user whether the user is in another app, on the Start screen, on the desktop, or on the lock screen.

This tutorial will show you how to turn email notifications on or off for specific accounts in your Mail app in Windows 8, Windows RT, Windows 8.1, and Windows RT 8.1.

I don't have the fly out in step three. Only PC Settings with User Accounts only. Or am I doing something wrong?

Hello Bill,

Do you have the Mail app open when you open the Settings charm?

If so, please post a screenshot showing what you see instead to see what the issue may be. :)

Brink,
When I click on the mail app I get a blue screen with a large envelope. It only is on for a couple of seconds, not enough time to goto settings, Then this screen comes up requesting that I log into a MS account.

Bill

PS: Disregard #3. My mistake.,

Bink,
I am going to out this off for a few days or hours. Everywhere I go it seems that I am asked for my MS credenrial;s I have not needed them since W7 days so I forgot them.
What can I do to retrieve the credentials? Who do I talk to at MS? I think it might be wise to use the same credentials on this new machine, even if I have to change the user name and PW for MS logon. What do you think?

Bill
