I don't know if it'll work with a DVD. I used the created UEFI USB flash drive instead.

Did you delete all partitions on the disk during setup until is showed as "unallocated space"?

If I delete all partitions, drive is still allocated to MBR.
If I click NEW, I end up one MBR partition.

Odd. Try with using an UEFI USB flash drive.

Are there ISO files of Windows 8 available just like there are for Windows 7?

    Hello Layback Bear,

Not as far as I know, but you can redownload a Windows 8 ISO directly from Microsoft at the link below though.

This is an OEM key from the pre-installed version of Windows 8 from a Sony Vaio laptop.

Ah, you would need to do a system recovery with your Sony Vaio laptop instead to restore Windows 8 back to a factory state.

That's why I wanted just the ISO file. I don't want all of Sony's crapware again.

It doesn't appear that you can use an OEM product key to activate a retail ISO like you could with Windows 7.

As a workaround, you could do a system recovery (if needed), uninstall all of Sony's bloatware that you don't want, then create a system image to another drive.

This way you could just do a System Image Recovery as needed to have your PC back to like it was when the image was created.
