    I did now:

Click image for larger version Click image for larger version

and thanks for the lesson. Irrespective, I do not see any administrator choice. As I said, I am the admin (password protected) and there is also additional admin account (I have not set a password for that account yet.

Do you think it's possible that, because Windows RT 8.1 is preloaded on the Surface 2 by Microsoft there is no possibility for the User to ever become an admin with total control? I have never seen anything like this on any of my PC's before.

I don't see anything that stands out other than "Administrator" missing in Settings.

The only thing I can think of is that it may be that way because you have a RT version of Windows. I don't have a RT version to confirm though.

Yes, I think that we are unable to disable certain items in RT vs. x86 Windows. I was trying to disable Defender because it makes no sense to have it running because it is impossible to modify RT (at least says Microsoft) so why have it? There cannot be any malware. Well, any way, I am very happy with my Surface 2 - and 99% of my needs are filled - particularly as Office and Outlook are preinstalled. And I learned a few things along the way so thanks for the help.

You're welcome. Hopefully someone else with a RT will be able to confirm the same on their RT.

Never say never when it comes to malware and viruses though. You would be surprised.

    Hello Midou,

What other AV do you have installed?

What do you mean by "This site has no rating"?

Unchecking the Spyware and unwanted software protection box in your Action Center settings should stop them then.
