    8.1 Update (KB2919355)
    Aug 2014 Update Rollup (KB2975719)
    Nov 2014 Update Rollup (KB3000850)
    Dec 2014 Update Rollup (KB3013769)

Added KB# is anyone needs them.

As I understand it, the November one is Cumulative, and includes everything since April (including the August one). But the December one is much smaller and presumably just December changes.

    Thanks Jim,

I thought it might be the rollups.

8.1 update : This is where the misnaming of the May 2014 update seems to have begun (I admit guilty as charged)

    8.1 Sep update = Windows 10

The difference is major - both the MAy update and the September update were large replacements for the previous release - almost upgrades. The Sep 8.1 update was just rebranded as Windows 10 - methinks.

So MS has more regular rollups instead Service Packs - there was an article about this being the direction.

I agree that we should use the terms MS uses. It's less confusing than making up our own names for Microsoft updates.
The advent of Windows 10 is changing the way a lot of things are done at MS, the process and the terminology.

Thanks for everyone's clarification ... I thought I was missing some important updates

I was expecting it not to include Update 3, but I was surprised that there were so many old security updates etc. that were also needed. Everything from last August, September and October were also missing.

Guess us average OEM install people should just be grateful we finally got access to the .iso .

Hopefully they update it at some point. But yes, it's still better than having to find an ISO by other means. It may be a bit outdated but it's straight from Microsoft, clean and unmodified.
