    Hello Chummy,

It will if you use the UEFI USB flash drive to do a clean install with UEFI on an unallocated hard drive at boot.

I sort of know the answer to this but, I made a Win 7 install with updates on it and the .iso I made is 4.7gb and I cannot make a USB install UEFI with rufus as FAT32 default is 4gb. I tried making it NTFS but that doesn't work.
I guess there is nothing I can do but start again and NOT add so much stuff?

Any help would be appreciated as this is my first foray into using UEFI booting.

    Hello Pendaws,

FAT32 has a limit of 4GB for a single file size, but you can have up to 32GB volume on the USB.

    Hello!

I would appreciate if someone could explain why Rufus Cluster size is defaulting to 8192 bytes as opposed to 4096 indicated in this tutorial? I also tried changing New volume label to WIN8DOT1 without avail

    Hello gaming,

The default cluster size was automatically determined from the size of the USB flash drive. It's fine to use your 8192 default, or to select 4096 if available.

Default cluster size for NTFS, FAT, and exFAT

You should be able to type in what you want under "New volume label" after selecting the ISO file, but you can also change the volume label after the USB has been created.

    Hope this helps,

    Hi Brink or Shawn???
It's fine to use your 8192 default, or to select 4096 if available.
8192 went fine while while earlier attempts of 4096 failed

@Clintlgm: My problem was Rufus was defaulting to 8192 and failing at 4096

I now have the bootable USB solely relying on Rufus. Is there a way to verify this without install as I will nuke the system completely

    Thanks in advance
