This may be implemented by simply providing the option to clear all Secure Boot databases (PK, KEK, db, dbx), which puts the system into setup mode.

If the user ends up deleting the PK then, upon exiting the Custom Mode firmware setup, the system is operating in Setup Mode with SecureBoot turned off.

The firmware setup shall indicate if Secure Boot is turned on, and if it is operated in Standard or Custom Mode. The firmware setup must provide an option to return from Custom to Standard Mode which restores the factory defaults. On an ARM system, it is forbidden to enable Custom Mode. Only Standard Mode may be enabled.

    You can try Legacy mode.
In the BIOS setup I have "Boot Mode" with two options: "UEFI" and "Legacy BIOS". Under "Legacy Bios" I cannot install since my disk also have Win 8 with GPT partitions. Besides Win 8 don´t start under "legacy Bios" setting.

What about replacing some Win 7 drivers (like disk.sys) with Win 8 drivers?

Installing in UEFI mode or Legacy mode

    Step Six DELETE ALL PARTITIONS.

As I said before Windows 7 installation hangs when is loading disk.sys with boot mode in UEFI because I have no option to enable CSM. Besides I need to keep Win 8 preinstaled (GPT partition), so I can't choose Legacy BIOS.

How long would doing this downgrade take on average and can it be done through a server?

I followed your instructions and my uEFI BIOS setting is set to Secure Boot (after completing Step 2, it shows True). In following Step 3, I was able to restart to change UEFI firmware settings after following the Toshiba youtube tutorial. I resetted the firmware and saved and exited just like the in the video. When I go back in the firmware settings to Security->Secure Boot Configuration settings, everything is disabled and I cannot edit those settings. I am unable to change the Secure Boot Control setting from disabled to enabled. When I click any key, it just beeps informing me that I cannot edit these options.

I tried skipping this step and by following Steps 4 and 5 to directly boot from the Windows 7 DVD but it says access denied and I am unable to boot from disc.

    Any ideas? Thanks!
    Hi JS1987,
I have got a very similar Laptop i.e. Fujitsu AH 512 (Lifebook A) and I ma having exactly same problem as you have; which means I am unable to change the Secure boot settings; it is enabled and I am trying to disable it to install window 7 onto my laptop, unfortunately I can not change the safe boot to "disabled" mode hence I can not install windows 7 neither from USB Drive nor from Installation DVD!
If you have sorted this problem out can you please help me how to change the secure boot mode from "Enabled" to "Disabled"
    Regards
    Maz

    HI Shawn,
It was a great help to find this link and referring me to the relevant topic. I also do thank to the guy (Sabrex) who actually discovered this little trick in the Security settings of these Fujitsu Laptops. I am sure that this is not unique to Fujitsu and a lot of other firmware designers are applying the same or similar scheme on these latest laptops.
Once again I do thank you and Sabrex (Fujitsu Forum Moderator) and you saved me to go crazy and brake the New laptop
    Cheers
