Yahoo Mail on Windows 8

I'm nearly at my wits end with windows 8. I bought a new Samsung laptop with windows 8 on it about a month or so ago and I think I've encountered every problem possible.

I use yahoo mail and cannot send emails through IE 10. I cannot download the yahoo mail app because it tells me my internet connection is too slow, yet I can get on the internet through IE just fine. I love firefox and prefer it over everything else. I cannot download firefox or chrome because they will not connect to the internet. I can't figure out why. I cant even download software from IE because it says its constantly interrupted. IE is very slow on this computer too. The windows mail app is useless if you have yahoo.

I've been searching the internet all day today trying to figure these issues out but cannot find anything. Does anyone know any solutions to these issues? Its mainly the yahoo mail thing that's the biggest problem. I need to figure out the mail issue pronto.

Can anyone please help?

I think you have to have the paid version of Yahoo mail to get it to work in Live Mail.

I think you need to figure out your Internet connection problems first. it seems like all your problems are related to that and that once that problem is licked, all the others will fade away.

the yahoo mail app is pretty nice. I put it on my dad's PC.

@Clint: you only need the paid version if you want POP (and some other features like no ads). with windows 8 mail or some of the other clients, you can get yahoo mail without paying for any yahoo mail plus.

I'm tech savy but by no means a computer wiz. I'm not really sure what the problem would be with the Internet nor the solution. I guess I'm going to have to have Someone else look at it. Thank you for the help.

I assume you have no issues connecting to the Internet from other PCs. Be sure you have the latest drivers from Samsung. I'd also be contacting the dealer because this sounds like something is faulty with the laptop.

A couple things you can try on the router end of your internet issue. First, reboot the router by unplugging it from the AC out for 2 minutes then plug it back in and recheck issue. Next, if that doesn't work, a router reset is needed which will reset the router to factory default settings. To do that you will need a paper clip straightened out. Then find the hole on the back of the route, inside the hole is the router reset button, push in and hold the reset button until the router turns off, then release the reset button. Let it boot up and recheck your issue.

You haven't said if you only try wireless connection or a wired connection also.
Try a wired connection if you haven't already.

You could use Obly Tile to create a Yahoo Mail tile.

Download OblyTile 0.9 Free - Design tiles for your Windows 8 Start Screen - Softpedia

I made one for Gmail.

edit--If you are interested in doing this & need help doing it, I will make screen shots to walk you through the process.
