WTF? New computer, and I have to PAY?

If you think apple os is drab wait until you see what ms did with win8. They took drab to a whole new level.

At least Microsoft's drab is more customizable than apple's drab. I don't know about you, but I wouldn't want to look at a monochrome/silver/grey UI for the rest of my life. Maybe that's why apple tends to use silver, they're always second best. ;)

no one ever said that windows 8 pro upgrade was free. ever ad they ever shown stated 14.99 but a few companies will reimburse your payment after you buy the upgrade. but if you wanted windows 8 you should have never bought a windows 7 computer when you knew windows 8 is coming out. best to wait until windows 8 is preinstalled before buying a new computer. plus if you upgrade yourself you still have to reinstall the drivers (graphics cards, and ect ect ect)

You aren't getting it for free with a new computer either, the price of that OEM license is baked into the cost of the computer.

true but the price shouldnt go up or down when windows 8 comes pre installed. since the cost is the same as windows 7.
