Solved Windows will not update darn near anything after a refresh

The commands you just ran should have completed downloading any updates available.

You should restart first before attempting to install any more updates. This will reset Windows Update Agent to ensure the process goes smoothly (hopefully).

It installed 24 updates after I clicked update and restart. Then it restarted, attempted to configure windows updates, went straight to 7% and then went back to the ole failed to configure windows updates, reverting changes.

I think the problem here is one of the updates was downloaded but the files are corrupted. So let's see if we can pinpoint exactly which update is the problem.

Open Windows Update from the Control Panel, try to install one update at a time. If the install fails move on to the next one.

In the meantime I will prepare a fix that will hopefully remove any corrupted files.

Okay I will do that, but tomorrow. It is 1am... I am heading to bed. I appreciate all of your superior help! :)

Hopefully I can install updates by the end of tomorrow!

Try setting Windows Modules Installer to Manual, if it isn't already:

Then restart the computer.

Before you attempt to install any updates we need to run a few commands. I can see from the cbs.txt file that the SFC command did not run successfully.

Step 1) Press :winkey: + X > select Command Prompt (Admin)
Step 2) Type: Dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth > press enter
Step 3) Type: SFC /scannow > Press enter

**Each command will take some time to complete, allow it to finish**

After that's done, delete the Logs folder on the Desktop & Run Collect.bat again as Admin.

Attach all logs from the Logs folder to your next post.

Okay, I'm going to grab the logs for you, then set the windows modules to manual. Then wait on installing updates to pinpoint the corruption?

A long time ago I had problems with Windows Update.

I Googled a bit & found the suggestion about Windows Modules Installer (Trustedinstaller).

I tried it on Manual & it fixed my problems with Windows Update.

I hope it does the same for you.

Okay I will search for windows modules and change it to manual. Install updates and restart. Should I clear my softwaredistribution/download in the windows folder?

Yes, it's always good to do.

There is only one time not to do it, and that is when you installed updates but did not reboot yet.

If that is the case and you do delete, it is just asking for troubles. If there is no reboot needed that is pending, delete is good.

I tried to run SFC, says I have a pending repair and I need to reboot. However, if i reboot, my computer will try and update, fail and take an hour and a half to be usable again.

Great, it made me reboot, now I can't use my damn computer for another hour and a half because it has to "revert the changes of the failed configured updates" this pisses me off so much.

It is a tricky situation indeed. To save time maybe a reset would be best. Either way I will continue to help.

I have prepared a fix for you but without seeing the sfcdetails file I can't know the exact files to change.

Do you have caps lock on?

Nothing we've done changed anything about your password so I'm not sure how that could've happened.
