That's weird. I can see a definition update that was published today, and an Intel HD graphics update that was published yesterday...

A def update for Windows Defender is not considered to be a Win 8 update in the sense that is being spoken here. An update by a chip mfg is also not considered to be a MS Win 8 update.

I also smell a beta or pre-beta coming up soon.

Okay well... Whatever. Haha. I didn't know that.
Can you provide the KB numbers of these updates?
I only have the one of the Defender update, KB2267602, but either way, still not understanding why updates aren't updates. I mean, if you're talking in the sense of iteration of system architecture and design, then okay, but in general they are still updates, right?

Haha yes, I can imagine.
The next party you should go to, you should dress as Windows Vista! :thumb:
I skipped Vista so that would really fool them ... good idea! :D
Also, how long will we be getting these minor definition updates before the Beta?
Well, we'll be getting plenty of Defender updates (at least daily).

As to the rest ... I would surmise after this weekend and the WDP Installation Fair, us early adopters might be seeing a few new ones.

Frankly I like all the Defender updates. It's nice to know that they're doing a lot of work on it, even if the updates are considered minor. Last thing we want is a 0 day vulnerability, right? :p
And yeah, you're right, it sounds like a lot of good will come out of this Installation Fair that they're doing. I'm looking forward to some kind of customisation update, but that's just me. :3

I wonder why they require updates when they are releasing new builds that have updates pre-installed in it. Can anyone answer me, please?
