Is anyone besides me having problems with December 10 updates? I got them installed fine on MY desktop (Windows 8.1 x64) but when I installed them on my mate's pc, (also Windows 8.1 x64) startup time was very slow - over 2 minutes. When I removed them by System Restore, startup was just fine again. Am holding off installing 11 updates until I find a solution to take care of the start up issue. Appreciate any suggestions about this problem. I know I can install them one at a time and eliminate the problem one, but there are eleven.......UPDATE--------I narrowed it down to KB2903939, which, from information I can find on the Internet is an update which is NOT a security update. Per Microsoft it is one of these: "These updates (*.msu) provide a collection of performance and reliability improvements that are designed to improve the Windows 8.1 experience. We recommend that you apply all of these updates as part of your regular maintenance routines. Failure to install all of the packages listed above could leave your machine in an untested state."

Thanks for reply, I just updated the post - it seems the update is "designed to improve the Windows 8.1 experience". I guess slow start-up is an improvement? I never cease to be amazed at some of this crap.

O.K. updates are all in.
I saw no problems with computer so far,i rebooted twice,boots the same as before and i received that update you mentioned KB2903939.
Only weird thing is when i went back to windows update it said i never checked for updates,when i viewed the update history it was blank.Except when i looked in installed updates i saw all the ones i installed lately.

Thanks for the update....as I said in my original post, one pc did just fine - and one had this problem. I'm just going to "hide" it until I think it may be causing a problem. Since it's not security and is meant for improvement, I will just use my own method of improvement in spite of MS.
