Hi there
Has anybody else noticed that an increasing number of even legitimate paid for software apps are beginning to incorporate NAG stuff in it more and more.
I notice sometimes a message appears - asking if one wants to take part in a survey, or what features would you like to see in an upgrade etc - or would you like to upgrade to version xxxx etc - even when the check for updates has been disabled.
I'm definitely becoming more minded now to use Linux more and more as these hideous practices haven't effected Linux software (at least so far).
I have no objection to people making money but do it PROPERLY - my computer is essentially for WORK - it's not an "unofficial Shopping Mall".
The PAID for stuff should be free from these intrusions into a workspace. With Free stuff you can at least expect possibly some intrusion to "pay" for the software - but PAID FOR stuff !!!!!!.
Anyway rant over - but I do really find it annoying at times. I worry if Subscription services will do this --I'm sure they will be flooding our machines to "Upgrade your Service" or get "New extra features" etc.
Cheers
