Hi, my Asus N56VJ laptop originally came with Win 8 64 bit pre-installed. A while back I did the upgrade to 8.1. I wanted to do a clean install of Win 8.1 but ran into the problem of Microsoft not recognizing my product key.

I ran the following programs to ensure I had the correct product key – Belarc Advisor and ProduKey. Both gave me the same results. When I go to enter the product key during installation I get the message “The product key entered does not match any of the Windows Images available for installation. Enter a different product key".
I have previously created a Windows 8.1 ISO but am stuck at this step. Please advise the best solution.

Thanks,
Bas

Windows 8 & 8.1 had the product key embedded into the bios...
What edition of windows 8.1 are you trying to install ??
There is a Home Edition and a Pro Edition - be sure the OS Edition matches the embedded key

Hi KYHI,
Thanks for your quick reply. I must have the home edition as it doesn't indicate "pro" edition.
I'll check inside the BIOS to see if the product key is the same.

Follow up: A Microsoft tech had to provide me with a code to do a manual override. This aspect is solved.
