My windows 8.1 OS that was working for years won't show up, all I see is a black screen with flashing underscore top upper left of the screen.
I used a Windows 8.1 iso dvd, and went into diskpart>list disk and got:
* Disk 0 Online 465 GB (size) 465 GB (free) Dyn (blank) Gpt (blank)
Diskpart> select disk 0
Disk 0 is now the selected disk
Disk> list vol
Volume 0 D IR5_CCSA_X6 UDF DVD-ROM 4123 MB healthy
I don't see any other volume on my HD, there were more volumes there before I played around in diskpart and typed these commands:
bootrec /FixMbr
bootrec /FixBoot
bootrec /ScanOs
bootrec /RebuildBcd
problem initially started as 0xc00000e (and no OS), played around with above commands and ended up with flashing underscore top left of screen and no OS
