How to Manually Check for Updates in Windows Media Player

Windows Media Player (WMP) is updated from time to time with new features and performance enhancements. You can let the Player check for updates automatically or you can check for updates manually.
This tutorial will show you how to manually check for updates in Windows Media Player.
To be able to update WMP, you must be signed in to Windows as an administrator, and you must be connected to the Internet.

Here's How:
1. Press the :winkey: + R keys to open the Run dialog, type wmplayer, and click/tap on OK to open Windows Media Player.
2. If the Player is in Now Playing mode, then click the Switch to Library

3. Press the Alt key or CTRL+M keys to show the menu, click/tap on Help and Check for updates. (see screenshot below)
4. If updates are available, then follow the instructions to install them.
5. If no updates are available, then click/tap on OK. (see screenshot below)
6. When finished, you can close Windows Media Player if you like.
