Set how Often Windows Media Player Automatically Checks for Updates

Windows Media Player (WMP) is updated from time to time with new features and performance enhancements. You can let the Player check for updates automatically or you can check for updates manually.
This tutorial will show you how to change how often Windows Media Player automatically checks for updates in only your user account in Windows.

Here's How:
1. Press the :winkey: + R keys to open the Run dialog, type wmplayer, and click/tap on OK to open Windows Media Player.
2. If the Player is in Now Playing mode, then click the Switch to Library

3. Press the Alt key or CTRL+M keys to show the menu, click/tap on Tools and Options. (see screenshot below)
NOTE: You could also click/tap on the Organize button, and click/tap on Options.
4. Click/tap on the Player tab. Under Automatic updates, select Once a data, Once a week (default), or Once a month for how often WMP checks for updates, and click/tap on OK. (see screenshot below)
5. When finished, you can close Windows Media Player if you like.
