Solved Windows GWX icon suddenly disappaered

Hi,

Wait a minute i discovered something strange it seems there is a difference in the way you obtain the update for example if you download KB3035583 via this (Windows 8 X64) and install it then it wil install 4 scheduled tasks and there is no GWSTriggers folder after i run windows update it offers me another KB3035583 when you install that the scheduled tasks are reduced to 2 and an empty GWXTriggers folder is created what is this mess ?

Ok, So after look your last pictures ( picture 3 ) i found something that may help you.
It looks you system not yet do the process rundll32.dll TelemetryRun to scan you system if it capable to reserve windows 10

Ok you mean the thing called "appraiser" it's running now thank you also i just noted you can export scheduled tasks that might become handy so i can uninstall those updates install the one that gives me appraiser scheduled task and last import ok tricky but .....

Ok i have 4 scheduled tasks now but still no icon and the GWCTriggers folder is empty

I just discovered why my GWXTriggers folder migt be empty when i browse to c:\windows\system32\Tasks\Microsoft\Windows\Setup i can't access the GWXTriggers folder

Obviously something is wrong because way to many users are affected with issues with that icon.Why make it so complicated ? just check whether the running windows is genuine and show the god damn icon all the rest is nonsense .

I have the same problem in 3 pc.
I noticed that my GWX icon disappaered when I installed eset ss 8 antivirus.

I tried everything in oder to make it run again (including eset off) but no luck

Is' it possible eset to block in some way the GWX icon ?

hi,

This cannot be normal every time i run the windows update troubleshooter it keeps on reporting the same issues over and over again.I'm guessing it has something todo with the GWX issue sfc /scannow and DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth both report no errors. so ....... ?

As lang as windows update says an upgrade is reserved you are fine offcource it is annoying the icon does not appaer .
