Windows Error code # 2015 with flickering screen

My wife keeps getting the following error message on her Lenovo Z50 running Windows 8.1

Main throwed an error. Failed to attach controller. World Argument Error. Error #2015.

After this message she has to reboot her machine. If she does not reboot quickly after receiving the message her screen starts flickering very fast but she still has to reboot.

The error description I get for #2015 is:
The specified color profile is not associated with the specified device.

It sounds like the gpu is not configured correctly.
Will it boot in Safe Mode without the problem?

Thank you for your reply. I will test the safe mode and see what happens. However it will be for a few days before I will have the time.

If you can boot ok in safe mode a trick that often works is to go into Device Manager and delete the driver of the device that has the problem. Then reboot normally. Windows will reinstall the driver. For some reason this clears up many issues.
