Windows Defender and built-in Brandmauer effectiveness

Hi, are there any comparsion tables of Windows Defender and any other AV product?
Especially I am wondering about ESET NOD and Kaspersky.

Also I am not sure in Windows Brandmauer's protection.
Can I be advised to disable it and use other firewall instead?

I'm not aware of any comparison tables, but be careful when trusting those because they are almost always created by an AV vendor promoting their products over their competition. I test AV at a large Fortune 10 company and we use Symantec Endpoint Protection at work and almost all of us use Microsoft Security Essentials on Win7 and the built-in Windows Defender on Win8. I also use MalWareBytes at home. I cannot recommend any other products based upon our testing, that's really all I can say...
