hey guys,

I have a nvidia 670 (running Windows 8 64bit) and every time I reboot it starts the computer up with "Microsoft Basic Display Drive". My graphics cards are up to date and it is plugged in correctly, I believe it may be something to do with a windows update which automatically took place, I could be wrong though, that's just my guess. my 670 is on it's highest version, and even if I try to update again, it says it 'not compatible' because it can't find my graphics card, but I know it's there, because if i go 'Show hidden devices' in device manager it is there. I have tried a fair few things, nothing has worked, any suggestions? Thanks

Have you set it as "First display device" or disabled on-board graphics in BIOS? Also from your dxdiag it looks like you have the monitor plugged into the on-board graphics.

I'ved had a lot of problems with the driver for Nvidia Quadro FX 540, works OK with the Ms supplied driver but notwithstanding anything from Nvidia or Winows update. It is my secondary card driving my to supplementary monitors. M ain't display is from the onboard Intel graphics.

I fixed it, thanks for the help guys, how I fixed it though was a little different, I went into my device manager and rolled back my Intel HD graphics, my computer auto updated that and the update failed, doing all sorts or weird things. Thanks for the help.
