Heeeeeeeelp. My laptop went lagging while i was using it, so i restarted my laptop. After that, my laptop went into a mode that i have never experienced before. I clicked advanced setting, It made me choose either to restore it, reset it, and another one but i can't remember it. I chose the reset button, and currently it is stuck on RESET YOU PC PLEASE WAIT. And its taking a very long time. What can i do about it? I don't have my recovery disc or drive. I saved it before on a flash drive, unfortunately it died.. Heeeeeelp please.

Hello Lenard, and welcome to Eight Forums.

By doing a "reset", you have started to do a factory reset of your laptop (if Windows 8 came preinstalled on it) to reinstall Windows 8 back to factory conditions.

If you have hard drive activity, then it would be best to wait and let it finish to avoid potentially messing up the installation.

Hope this helps for now, :)

wait wait wait.. as mentioned by Brink, as long as the HDD is flashing, it is busy.... just make sure its not sitting on fabric, put the laptop on a hard surface so it can breathe..

Waiting sucks, but a crashed system is worse.......

The loading is finished, it now says insert your windows installation or recovery media to continue.. Unfortunately, my windows 8 installer was saved in my flash drive.. But it was corrupted. Is there any other way that i can solve this problem?

Did this Windows 8 come preinstalled on your PC, or was it an upgrade Windows 8 you installed?

At this point, you can cancel the reset to see if it will start Windows 8 afterwards.

You can download the windows 8 ISO legally, and your current system should populate the CD key you entered previously.
But it must be the same version. Did you upgrade online or from DVD.

If you like, you can download another Windows 8 ISO file to create a Windows 8 installation DVD or USB flash drive with. Since this is not an OEM PC that came with Windows 8 preinstalled, you will need to have your Windows 8 product key handy for this.

See if you may be able to use the System Restore option at boot to select a restore point (if available) dated before you had this issue to hopefully fix this for you.

Hello Demonic, and welcome to Eight Forums.

It varies per system and situation, but has long as you have hard drive activity, I would wait and see if there's any progression within 30 minutes. :)
