Open up the Charms menu by swiping in from the right or hitting WIN+C and choose "Settings" then choose "Change PC Settings". From there you select "General" then scroll down and you'll see "Remove Everything and Reinstall Windows" it will wipe everything and reinstall Windows 8 to it's factory default! :geek:

After restoring your system, I would think about removing all the factory bloatware that was preinstalled on your laptop, this bloatware is famous for ruining the user experience and giving an otherwise perfect Op system a bad reputation.

Decrapifier is good for showing you which programs can be safely removed from your system. :)

ok thanks again unfortunately i have a problem right there. the laptop came pre-installed with windows 8 and there is no sticker with the product key on. i suspect it was installed by the manufacturer and is part of their licence.
i cannot ask the manufacturer for this information because they will suggest sending it to them and they will charge as there is nothing wrong with the pc....stumped.

Most manufacturer laptops contain a recovery partition. Depending on the model of your Samsung laptop you could find the manual online and will help you through the step by step on how to restore factory defaults and clean recovery. Win8 stores key information inside the bios which aids in recovery and reinstallation of preinstalled OS on laptops.

You should still be under warranty as well from Samsung since it is a Windows 8 machine. Their technical support line should offer you step by step instruction on how to reset everything back to factory settings and start fresh free of charge and without having to send the machine too them.

The key is in the bios. There is no sticker.

You just need the installation media to return it factory type condition so you can sell it.

Surprised the oem didn't include a .wim of some kind for that purpose. It may be there on your HD - look in the recovery partition.

There should be a recovery partition from most OEM companies. (see screenshot) they may be hidden partitions and might not be seen from "my computer" you can check using the management console. "right click on my computer, choose manage, the choose disk management". Now I do not know how much you do or do not know so please take no offence to my posting instructions, plus they may help others. If there is none or it is truly damaged then contact the manufacturer and request a dvd, don't take no for an answer. They will usually send them at a nominal cost or free.

Hi Para all you need to do is reboot the computer holding down the F4 button when the laptop starts up. This will give you the recovery solution. Select the very earliest date and the recovery will go back to Factory state. Leave the rest to who ever purchases it after you, they might want what you have taken off.
