Hi All,
Just upgraded from Windows Vista to Windows 8 Pro as I was finding Vista to bloated and slow. I've been trying to have one of my usual evening gaming sessions and have been having nothing but problems and am cursing my choice to update.
I have been finding that whatever I try to download, be it Flash player plugin (stopped at 40%), Steam updating itself(stopped at 26%), MechWarrior Online patcher (stopped at 138MB), Guild Wars patcher (stopped at 15%) the download starts and then gradually throttles itself down to zero.
I have no idea how it is doing this??
I've just ran an ISP speedtest and it doesn't appear to be my ISP? My connection was working fine before I upgraded last night? That leaves me squarely blaming Win8.
I've got a local build PC that I've had a couple of years, Core i7, 3GB DDR3 RAM running on 2 500GB HD's, Radeon graphics card. The only thing I can think of off the top of head is that all these programmes are on my second HD (/d where Win 8 isn't installed?
Help!
