Windows 8 New UI (Codenamed Mosh) and App Model (Codenamed Jupiter)

While the first taste of Windows 8 might be just around the corner as CES 2011 kicks off later today, some fresh tidbits related to Windows 7’s successor have made their way to the public.

Windows 8 will reportedly feature a new graphical user interface codenamed Mosh and a new application model codenamed Jupiter.

The information comes from WinSupersite, and has not been confirmed, which means that users should take it with a grain of salt.

I think the title of the news is a bit misleading. In fact, there are two new GUI : one for touch, codenamed "mush", one for the keyboard+mouse (which I still believe it's the most effective) codemaned "Wind".

I suppose Windows 8 will use one or the other depending on the display... I'm more looking forward to screenshot of the GUI instead of the NUI.

For the App Model codenamed Jupiter... *reads* Oh gawd, don't turn Windows into a Mac OS X-like idea. It will make Windows users sad.

Agreed.

I find 7 to be very polished and near perfect in most respects. I am hoping that they don't mess things up with 8.

Would be nice to have something like OSX, I mean, programs, that doesn't screw up the whole system. If they were bundled like OSX, that would be nice...
