Solved windows 8 has been removed from my pc

I've had a hp pavilion notebook g6 for a year with windows 8 and recently it kept freezing after login so I refreshed my laptop but it ran out of charge 12% through and now whenever I run my laptop it asks for me to install an operating system and I didn't realise the importance of the sticker which has my windows license key and I only have the last 4 numbers left and I was wondering if there is any way for me to get my windows 8 back?

Any help would be appreciated

Have you made the OEM manufacturer's Recovery Disks?

We always assume you have made your Recovery Disks using the OEM manufacturer's Recovery Media Creator app the first day you had your new PC.
& made the Startup Repair CD. (Windows 8 only)

Is this a OEM manufacturer's PC with Pre-installed Windows 8?

Look at your sales receipt and info to see if the serial number is printed there. Good luck!

I know but the serial code for the laptop was under the battery pack but the windows license key sticker was on the DVD drive

Sometimes, the manufacturer will have a record of the Windows license key that was sold with the laptop. They can search by serial number. Dell has done this for me several times in the past. I don't know if HP does this...

Not if windows 8 came pre-installed.

Pre-Installed COA.
windows-8-stickers pro.jpg

has no windows license key.
