Could you give more info on what happens? For example you boot to safe mode without network support and what does it show? You tried to boot from USB? If so what OS was on the stick? What was the output if any?

On my Toshiba Laptop pressing F12 on start will allow me to temporarily change the boot order and/or enter bios/uefi settings. Perhaps yours is the same.

Edit: Note that I have the keyboard set so that function keys are accessible without having to hit the Fn key. If your system is not set that way try hitting Fn and F12.

On my HP, the ESC key allows me to view the F-key layout for boot options.
F-8 fo BIOS settings
F11 Recovery Tools

What happens when you try ESC or F-1 before OS attempts to load?

Thanks friends for your help. Yes you are right there's different brands with different function keys. I mean today's windows modify bios and not allowed us to enter bios setup. When windows is working we can easily access bios setup and advance startup.

Windows has nothing to do with the Bios. Try fnf2 for Bios screen, or fnf12 for boot options.

Thank you Broe23. Windows 8, 8.1 & 10 do not shutdown completely. When windows is working we use restart for complete shutdown and can reach bios setup by pressing its own function key but here windows(may be in sleep mode/hibernation/hybrid) cannot start. I reseated ram, cmos battery and main battery to reach bios setup but nothing happen always Lenovo logo is displaying actively. I have tried many function keys including keys you mention above.

Nipax Windows 8.1 & 10, you have to hold down the Fn key and then press Fn2 to get into the Bios, because of newer computers with the UEFI bios allow for that, if you do not have them set for Standard, where you just have to press the numbered Function key.

If you used an older computer without a UEFI bios, you just press the numbered Function key. Not that hard, pretty simple as we have stated.

The only thing that could cause you not to get into the Bios settings, is if you have "Fast Boot" enabled in the OS. Then you have to hold down the Function key sequence, before powering up the computer.

I know what Lenovo states about thatNovo button, but it will not work if you are having issues. It relies on a Recovery partition to work.

Lenovo NOVO button will work ("to start the BIOS setup utility or to enter the boot menu") even if your hard drive is blank or if you replace the hard drive.

It used to not be that way with the older units, if you wiped the whole drive clean and installed a image that did not have he recovery partition.

Next time my wife brings her laptop from work home, I will look at it.
