I miss switching between Metro and Desktop by moving the cursor to left edge of the screen, they could have removed the Start button and left this feature alone.

You can still do that. Hover your mouse at the top left and it shows the last App used. If you move the mouse down it shows thumbs of all open apps.
Thanks for that.

How big is the 32-bit install. I only have a 16gb SSD. Developer Preview fit with MS Word and Excel

That should be enough for WCP w/ Office

I can't find anything yet and nothing does what I think it should do. It'll take some gettin' used to...

One quick question... how do I shut it down? I can't find anything that looks like an off button.

Edit: Hah! Found the little b*st*rd!

I was getting my usual "maximum" speed

Ah - good - I thought my isp was throttling it - I am getting about 630kb/s .

Is that normal?

I am considering signing up with the same isp for another year.

Hard to resist because they pay you to do it.

Thanks for the update and links. :D

FF says 1h 44m to finish the 64 bit iso download.

I'm not sure what is normal for your ISP (based on your distance from your exchange, cable conditions, etc.).

The maximum I normally get here is ~5 Mb/s (~625 KB/s).
I was getting ~540 KB/s for the 64 bit ISO version.

I've just started downloading the 32 bit ISO.
I'm getting ~550 KB/s at the moment.

Microsoft Security Essentials
wont work in windows 8 CP? compatibility test gives the report as not compatible!!!

Hmmm .. I don't see that in this list Security software providers for Windows 8 Consumer Preview - Microsoft Windows

In case if it asking for serial number you could use NF32V-Q9P3W-7DR7Y-JGWRW-JFCK8

On another forum (TechRepublic) I was told that MSE is already included in W8 (built-in).

The max I can get is 2Mb/s, but the site is obviously getting hammered. Bouncing between 50kb/s - 150kb/s atm.

I downloaded mine overnight, both 32-bit and 64-bit. Not sure how long it took, but I set them downloading at about 10-45pm and they were done this morning by 5-25am (I get up at 5-15am for starting work at 6am).

Roll on this afternoon. It's going to be install time! :)
