Windows 8 Consumer Preview randomly freezes

Nah, nothing is crashing. If the OS was doing so, there would be minidumps, which there are not.

Can you please explain to the best of your ability what the exact problem is?

Did you uninstall Uniblue yet?

Yes, I uninstall Uniblue. It is not from him. I dont know what is the problem.. In Windows 7 evrything is good, but in Win 8 the crashes are non stop. Maybe in 5-10 minutes I must restart the laptop from power button.

That's not too much of a help, since nothing is really crashing. To help, I'd need a better explanation.

Other than that, it's a good idea to update the bios to BIOS 218 from the maker's link. After, go into bios settings and set to be Optimized Defaults and save.

Right now, you only have 207.

Do you have a C:\Windows\Minidump folder at all?

Regardless, it's a great idea to update bios.

W8 freezing

Hey,

I am currently experiencing problems with Windows 8 freezing up. Sometimes I am browsing the web and watching a film, other times I leave the desk for a bit and the computer is idle and, when I come back it has either frozen or everything slows down until I cannot do anything else with the computer and whatever the case, I can not access task manager, even one time when I had task manager open and tried ending tasks, each time I have to hard restart the computer.

I have attached the files (had to do 2 since I could only upload 8mb files) and would love some assistance if possible.

If you need any more information please let me know.

Thank you in advance.

Biggids - please start your own topic so that your issues can get the individual attention that they deserve.

While waiting for a reply, please update the drivers for the 3 problem devices listed in MSINFO32 (they're supposed to be also listed in Device Manager). You'll have to enable the disabled WiFi device in order to update it:
Intel(R) WiFi Link 5300 AGN PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_4235&SUBSYS_11218086&REV_00\4&52E6DB&0&00E1 This device is disabled.
Teredo Tunneling Pseudo-Interface ROOT\*TEREDO\0000 This device cannot start.
Dell Wireless 375 Bluetooth Module USB\VID_413C&PID_8187\68A3C44793FE Failure using the VxD loader.

Just FYI - you can "fix" the Teredo device by right clicking on it and selecting "Uninstall". When you reboot the device will be reinstalled if needed (but in most cases it's not needed and it isn't reinstalled).

Infmachine, Old Buddy, I have good news and bad news. The good news is that I can solve your problem. The bad news is that your problem is unsovable.

The drivers on a laptop are far more specific than on a desktop. It is rarely a good idea to upgrade one Windows Operating System to another on a laptop. (A few people have done it smoothly, but most don't). The drivers you need are on your installation disk, which is probably installed on your hard drive. If you did a clean install from a DVD, then your drivers were not included.

You've got a very good machine there, but it is designed to run Windows 7. I advise you to go back to your original Windows 7.

These drivers are so specific that the drivers you download from the manufacturer often don't work. They also might be designed for the original version of Windows and wn't work on the new version.

Windows 8.1 freezes randomly

I started out with windows 8Pro and after about 10 months the desktop would freeze (no mouse, keyboard). hard boot only option.
I updated to 8.1 and it still freezes randomly. Updated drivers and every other thing I was capable of doing. Ran 10 AV scans with different Avast, spybot, Malware bytes, windows defender.
found no events marked red around.Did find event marked yellow- warning that coincides with each freeze - see below.
Appreciate any ideas

Hi tpatterst and welcome to the forums ^_^

I think you should rather post your complete problem along with the required files in this thread -

as this current thread only deals with the Blue Screens Of Deaths encountered during operating Windows.
