Windows 8 - 7850 Leaked

Some very different things in M1 already - having a bit of a mare with dwm in pe.

Got Aero working - still battling with the rest of the explorer interface - haven't got sound going yet either.

Just about to pull it apart and start again.

Have you got theme service and all the necessary dll's in your pe3 build already ?

If you have, then you can patch winlogon.exe.

I don't know what you are using as the command line - if you are using winpeshl -pop this in system32 and run it before starting explorer

Yes, use the same method for installing Vista and/or W7 with a USB stick.

To get Aero to work, you need to successfully run the Windows Experience Index. Unfortunately, I get this (and I am using the latest WHQL graphics driver for NVidia):

I'll see if I can do something about that and post back.

There seems to be a bug in the assessment tool, which has probably been resolved in a later (but currently unobtainable build). Highlighted below:

OK.

Runs well on i3 laptop and i7 desktop, as well as on VMware vm. Aero OK, no issues.

Runs also on VirtualBox but does not let me to install Guest Additions. Also logging off freezes the vm, so hard power off is the only way to close.

Virtual PC lets install, but goes then to restart loop, producing this every time after reboot, so it's a no go at least for me:

Seriously, just shrink a Windows 7 partition using diskpart and use the 'act'ivate command therein to switch. I've got tried and true tutorials for the fastest and best way to test these new build on SF that hundreds have used and love. If there's only one reason to use 8M1 on a daily use machine it's the refreshing speed boost it affords an Atom netbook. Somebody please try it and back me up on this. It makes a Pinetrail feel like an i3. I'm looking into how this is possible but I'm getting a clue it's just one coder who defected first from Qualcomm and then to Apple and then to MS. Expect him to fall under the bus sometime soon so I'm not citing.
