Windows 8.3 - MS forcing a global login (Windows live) instead of my local PW?

My PERSONAL Win8.3 PC has always requested a PW to login. It was just a local PW. Today, we lost power for a little while, then when it came back on and I rebooted, my PW didn't work. Windows told me I have to use my Windows live PW. It also sent a confirmation to the Windows authenticator app, which I only have on my phone for work - but at some point I (for some reason) used my personal email with it.

So now, I have to use the live PW to login.

I do not accept that. I didn't pay a software license to have microsoft meddle in my business and manage what I do with MY machine.

How do I disable the live login and go back to my personal, local PW?

Thank you.

Hello, :-)

It sounds like you switched to a Microsoft account by mistake. If so, the tutorial below can help show you how to switch back to a local account.

I was scratching my head a bit but figured it was a hybrid or combining of Windows version 8.1 & NT version 6.3 = Windows 8.3

How about a simple typo?
What bothers me more is any personal computer set up with a password. I'd rather keep a pet alligator in my house.
A PW can't keep me out, or anyone bound and determined to get in to that PC.
Again, I've taken many service calls where a client lost their PW or it has become damaged. Totally removing the PW was the most effective answer to the problem.
I have a Professional program that will do that.

I am wondering about that too, Jody
OP should run either MSInfo32.exe or Winver.exe to check the Windows 8.x version
Much better.
Code:
PS E:\ > [System.Environment]::OSVersion.Version

Major Minor Build Revision
----- ----- ----- --------
10 0 19043 0

E:\>ver

Microsoft Windows [Version 10.0.19043.1021]
